Night vision rentals are not included in the course fee and must be selected from the “Rental Night Vision” dropdown. If you own night vision, select “NA.” Personal equipment is encouraged. See Rental Logistics below for details.
Night Vision Applications is a Rifle/Pistol course focused on operating effectively in low/no-light environments using night vision systems. If you do not have a rifle, the course may be completed with an appropriately equipped pistol.
Optional Low Light Workshop available prior to class (see details below).

Pistol 2 (or equivalent) is required if you will be using a pistol

Optional Add-On: Low Light Workshop (Pistol/Rifle)
Students may attend a 2-hour pre-class workshop to develop and reinforce white light fundamentals in preparation for the Night Vision course.
Students new to Grey Defense are strongly encouraged to attend to ensure baseline proficiency. This allows instructors to assess performance, identify focus areas, and confirm safe participation—reducing the risk of removal for unsafe practices.
Participants must bring an additional 200 rounds of ammunition for their weapon system(s). Rifles require a weapon-mounted light. Pistols require either a weapon-mounted light or handheld flashlight.

Rental Logistics:
If you opt for the rental package, you can either attach the provided PVS-14 to your existing helmet (if you have one) or use the included head harness and counterweight.
Note: Once you have secured your rental online, and before receiving the equipment in class, you will be required to sign a waiver from our third party rental provider, Mayonaka Solutions. This waiver acknowledges your responsibility for any loss, damage, or repairs/replacement needed due to any harm that may be caused to the equipment during use.
What to Bring:
- Helmet and Night Vision (if available)
- Rifle with red dot sight (RDS) for passive aiming
- Rifle-mounted IR laser device (optional)
- IR lasers are not available to rent for rifles
- Rifle slings are mandatory
- Pistol with a mounted red dot sight (RDS)
- 300 rounds of ammunition for rifle/pistol
- Strong-side holster that covers the trigger, with an appropriate belt
- Magazine carrier with three magazines for rifle/pistol
- Magazine speed loader (if available)
- Eye and ear protection
- PPE: Gloves, knee/elbow pads (highly recommended)
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Sunscreen, pants, closed-toe athletic shoes/boots, hat, and long sleeves (optional)
- Food (snacks and a meal) and plenty of liquids
- Notepad and pen/paper
- Prescribed allergy medication or treatments
- Folding camping chair (optional)
- Lighting - Handheld, weapon mounted (WML), and head lamp

Cancelation Policy:
Please verify your availability before booking. Should you be unable to attend your scheduled class date, contact customer service at info@greydefense.com no less than 5 business days before your class date.
You may reschedule or transfer your class credit to another class/date. A cancelation or reschedule less than (5) business days before your class will forfeit your class fee. As class fees reserve your instructor’s time for the class date, no refunds will be provided for cancelations.
