Path to Proficiency

Both the Pistol 1 and NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting classes are designed for beginners who are new to guns or for those who want to strengthen their fundamentals and build confidence with their pistol. The only difference between the two classes is that the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting gives you three additional hours of training over zoom prior to the range day, and awards you with an NRA certificate upon completion.
Pistol 2:
Pistol 2 is not a class for beginners. In this class you will apply the fundamentals learned in Pistol 1 while training with your pistol from a holster, and spare magazines from a magazine carrier. You will learn how two clear malfunctions, and engage threats with minor stress inducement. This class is ideal to help you gear up for concealed carry, and feel confident working with your pistol at a higher level.
CCW:
Our CCW and CCW Renewal classes are designed to meet the training requirements of Ventura County Sheriff to be issued your CCW after receiving the conditional approval letter from VCSO. You will learn the practical application of responsibly carrying a concealed pistol on your person, legal considerations, and how to improve your situational awareness to become more vigilant and prepared for self-defense scenarios. This is not an introductory class. We highly recommend that you pursue our Pistol 1 and Pistol 2 classes to receive adequate training prior to taking this class.
Tactical Pistol:
Building upon the skills learned in Pistol 1 & 2, in Tactical Pistol you will be pushed to utilize your pistol in complicated real-world scenarios under stress. You will refine movement, multiple target engagement, critical self-defense maneuvers, and life-saving practices while engaged in a hostile environment.
Low Light:
Our Low Light class brings the elements of our Tactical Pistol class into a low light setting, leveraging Weapon Mounted Lights (WML) for positive target identification and engagement. You will learn when to use, when not to use, and how to use your WML to maintain a tactical advantage. Our Low Light classes are currently offered on special occasions, announced by email and social media.
