Course Description:
Ready to put your pistol skills to the test?
Intro to Pistol Competition is designed to introduce experienced shooters to the fundamentals of practical pistol competition while developing greater confidence, speed, accuracy, movement, and overall gun handling.
Competition provides a unique environment to test your fundamentals against measurable standards. The clock, scoring, movement, and unfamiliar stages introduce new variables that challenge you to balance accuracy and speed while maintaining safe and efficient weapon handling.
This two-day course combines instruction with practical application. Day 1 will introduce the fundamentals, rules, equipment, scoring, and skills needed to participate in practical pistol competition. Students will progress through dry-fire exercises, live-fire drills, and mini stages designed to prepare them for an actual match environment.
Day 2 puts those skills into practice. Students will begin with an instructor-led warm-up before participating in an eight-stage local match hosted by SoCal Practical Shooting. Grey instructors will accompany students throughout the match to provide guidance on stage planning, range procedures, and navigating their first competitive shooting experience.
Match registration and fees are included with the course.
